City Construction

telephone-pole.pngJust when we could see the end of construction, something new will be impacting the streets to the east of the McGaugh.  The city and Edison are working together to removed the telephone poles along Seal Beach Blvd and put the wires and cables underground. This work will begin Wednesday, January 27th, 2010, depending on the weather. Expect curbside trenching and construction at the intersection of Bolsa and Seal Beach Blvd., and then down the Blvd. This construction will likely require about six days, again depending on the weather.  The contractor performing this work was good enough to request our school start and let out schedule as well as the bus schedule in order to limit their interference with school traffic. That's the good news.
Bolsa, Marlin, and Seal Beach Blvd will be impacted by this construction; however, every attempt will be made to keep driveways clear prior to the beginning of school and at dismissal times. There will be NO PARKING or STOPPING on Bolsa during this construction period, so my recommendation would be to park up the streets and walk to meet your children. While this will definitely be an inconvenience, it will increase the safety and the appearance of the neighborhood and school to have the wires relocated underground. Ideally, this could have happened last summer while the campus was closed, however, we were just informed of this construction on Thursday this week. So once again I ask for your patience and extra caution in order to keep our students safe during this period.
